Keynote Speaker
Miguel Santiesteban Rangel is a bilingual multimedia journalist and a news reporter with Telemundo New England and NBC 10 Boston.
He started working based out of Boston in March of 2020. He was previously the network’s Hartford, Connecticut, bureau reporter. His stories appear on the Telemundo New England channel and often on Telemundo New York as well. He also reports in English for the New England Cable News network as well as NBC Boston. Telemundo is the Spanish language network owned by Comcast through NBCUniversal. |
The 2018 Outstanding Senior in Journalism for the School of Media and Communication at Kennesaw State University was nominated Wednesday, April 24, 2019, for a New England Emmy for deadline news reporting.
Santiesteban was one of four nominees in the category of “video journalist within 24 hours” for his composite of two stories, “Una Comunidad Hispana En Panico Y Otra Devastada.” It documented one Hispanic community after a school lockdown for a firearm threat and the devastation of another community for the murder of Puerto Rican mother.
Santiesteban, a native of Colombia, was hired as by Telemundo New England shortly after he graduated KSU magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism and Emerging Media in May 2018. He minored in Crisis Preparedness.
Santiesteban, who served as president of the KSU Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, was selected by the faculty as the outstanding senior in journalism for 2018.
